Something incredibly hard, something you didn't choose, brought you here. Whether it's a diagnosis, a death, a relationship that isn't working, or caregiving exhaustion, my work is to help you find your footing in this new reality.

My career began in hospice social work, sitting with patients and families in the hardest weeks and months of their lives. Hospice shaped my understanding of grief; it's not something you move beyond, but something that becomes part of your life going forward. It also taught me that the end of life is still part of living. If you or a loved one is facing a terminal diagnosis, this time doesn't have to be something to just get through - there can still be peace, real connection with the people who matter, and a good life until the very end. That's what I'd be honored to help you find.

My practice also includes clients living with cancer and chronic illness. You may be navigating treatment, an uncertain or challenging prognosis, all while grieving the loss of the future you'd planned on. Together, we can work toward what brings meaning to this life, even while so much is uncertain.

My own experiences of loss, grief, caregiving, and illness brought me to my second career as a therapist. One thing I've learned is that our life history - our childhood attachments, traumatic experiences, our relationships, early losses - all impact how we navigate current circumstances. There's no one right way through grief, illness, or a challenging relationship. I'd welcome the opportunity to help you through whatever you're facing.

Grief is one of the most universal and challenging human experiences. Despite this, it can be stigmatized or avoided by those around us. I aim to provide a safe space where all the complex emotions that come with grief can be explored, whether it’s the loss of a loved one, culture, or identity. If you've come here because of grief, I would be honored to walk alongside you through that process.

Even if you don’t feel completely ready, I encourage you to take the first step—start with a complimentary phone consultation to see if we’re a good fit. My approach is slow, warm, and depth-oriented, helping you move toward where you want to be.

Mary's fee starts at $175/individual session, $195/couple and family dyad session
